Stating his belief that the Republic of Turkey, which succeeded in becoming a modern and democratic state of law in the light of the torch lit 100 years ago on May 19, will be kept alive forever as a strong country with the outstanding efforts and efforts of young people, Ahmet Savaşan emphasized that the spirit of May 19 is the guarantee of the existence of the Turkish Cypriots, who are an integral part of Turkey, and the continuation of the state.

Stating that 100 years ago, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who led the Turkish Nation in the face of great impossibilities, set out for Samsun with the awareness that the greatest strength is faith and unity and started the struggle for independence, Ahmet Savaşan said, “There are wars, your greatest strength is cannon and rifle. There are wars, your greatest strength is the patriots who can resist the cannon and rifle and who are willing to die for their homeland. Independence in Turkey and Cyprus has been achieved with the courage of many nameless heroes who sacrificed their lives for the sake of their homeland throughout history.”.
